Adrian Miller, 82, Grocer Who Fed a Wisconsin Region for Decades, Dies

A longtime owner of Miller & Sons Supermarket in Verona and Mount Horeb, he was a grocer by trade and a traveler at heart, who swapped the aisles for John Deere tractors and the open road in a lifelong retirement.

Adrian “Ace” K. Miller, age 82 of Mount Vernon passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at his home. He was born April 6, 1943, the son of Keith and Dorothy (Bahr) Miller. Ace was part owner/operator of Miller & Sons Supermarket in Verona and Mount Horeb until his retirement in 2013. He also farmed in Mount Vernon and had a love of John Deere tractors. Ace married Barbara Strassman in 1964 and they had four children together. In July of 1992 he married Diane Best McKeown. Ace and Diane spent their retirement traveling the US with their camper, wintering in Florida and Texas. They also loved boating on the Mississippi River near their house in Glen Haven. He had served as a member of the Verona Fire Department and a Freemason. Ace will be remembered for his gift of gab, and he was grateful for those who stopped by the farm to catch up on the current affairs.
