New Glarus’ seasonal alternate-side winter parking rule effectively comes to an end today, March 31, as the village reaches the final day of the annual overnight street-parking restriction.

Under village ordinance, alternate-side parking runs from Nov. 15 through March 31 and applies between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. on village streets. Because the next overnight enforcement period would not begin until 1 a.m. on April 1, the rule is essentially finished.
