EVANSVILLE, Wis. — The Bank of New Glarus is pushing farther east with plans for a new branch in Evansville, adding another step to the bank’s recent expansion across southern Wisconsin. City records show the project is planned at 50 Union St., Evansville where the bank will replace the existing building with a new branch featuring two drive-through lanes.

Demolition of the existing bar and restaurant building on the site began Monday, signaling the project is moving from the approval stage into visible work on the ground. The Evansville Plan Commission previously gave the proposal unanimous approval, allowing the project to move ahead subject to a list of site and landscaping conditions contained in the city staff report.
