On a brutally cold Monday night that kept many fans at home, the New Glarus Glarner Knights delivered one of their grittiest efforts of the season inside the New Glarus High School Gymnasium. Short-handed, short on rest and facing a red-hot Darlington Redbirds squad riding a 10-game winning streak, the Knights never stopped competing in a 57-47 nonconference loss.

New Glarus entered the night without their leading scorer, junior Ellie Brenkman and several other regulars, leaving the Glarner Knights with just three players available off the bench. Against a veteran Darlington team loaded with senior leadership, the challenge was steep from the opening tip.
