Space Stallions’ Fast Start Too Much For Glarner Knights
Albany/Monticello girls basketball team jumped out early and never let up Tuesday night, handing New Glarus a tough 70-33 loss in a nonconference matchup at Monticello.
The New Glarus Glarner Knights ran into a red-hot Albany/Monticello team Tuesday night, falling 70-33 to the Space Stalions in a nonconference girls basketball game at the Monticello High School gymnasium.
Albany/Monticello, a perennial power and one of the top teams in Division 4, set the tone from the opening tip. After New Glarus controlled the jump ball, the Space Stalions struck first and quickly capitalized on early turnovers and missed opportunities by the Knights. New Glarus struggled to find its rhythm offensively against the Space Stalions’ quick tempo and pressure, while Albany/Monticello pushed the ball in transition and controlled the glass.
