Heavy construction officially began today, Feb. 9, at the New Glarus Hotel & Restaurant as their contractor Bachmann Construction mobilized crews and equipment on site, signaling the start of an exciting new phase for the historic downtown property.

The work now underway focuses on structural reinforcement of the third floor and roof system, described by project leaders as the most critical structural phase of the entire rebuild.
