Green County cheesemakers earn early honors at the 2026 World Championship Cheese Contest in Madison, including a Best of Class victory for Decatur Dairy’s Havarti crafted by New Glarus High School graduate Steve Stettler.
Early results are beginning to emerge from the 2026 World Championship Cheese Contest in Madison, and Green County cheesemakers are already making their mark on the international stage.
Leading the early honors is Decatur Dairy of Brodhead, where Master Cheesemaker Steve Stettler, a graduate of New Glarus High School, captured Best of Class in the Havarti category. The award recognizes Decatur Dairy Havarti as the top entry among competitors from around the world in that class.
