Fatal Hit-and-Run Investigation Continues with Few New Details Released

More than a month after a fatal hit-and-run in the Town of Washington, the Green County Sheriff’s Office says the case remains active as detectives continue reviewing evidence and following up on leads.

The crash happened Feb. 20 in the W6400 block of County Highway C, about four miles west of Monticello. Authorities previously said a 58-year-old woman from Argyle had stopped her vehicle with hazard lights activated and exited to secure a loose dog found along the roadway when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle that fled the scene. The woman later died at UW Hospital in Madison.
