Flag Throwing Classes Return to New Glarus Schools

Flag throwing, known in Switzerland as Fahnenschwingen, will once again be taught by Damion Babler beginning Monday, March 2, at the New Glarus Middle School Multipurpose Room. The eight-week course runs from 6 to 7 p.m. on eight consecutive Mondays and is open to both youth (5th grade and older) and adults who are interested in learning the traditional Swiss art.

The classes are part of ongoing efforts to preserve and promote Swiss heritage in New Glarus. It is also an endeavor supported with a grant from the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin Inc.
