From New Glarus to Ohio: Leglers Build Sonder Brewing with Wisconsin Roots
Shaped by New Glarus and refined in Ohio, the Leglers built Sonder Brewing around disciplined process, genuine hospitality, and a deep sense of place — proving great beer starts with people and community first.
When Chase Legler, a 2004 graduate of New Glarus High School, talks about beer, it is never just about what ends up in the glass. It is about discipline, process, and the quiet pride that comes from doing things the right way — values shaped early in New Glarus and now embedded in one of southwest Ohio’s most respected craft breweries.
Chase and his wife Haley Shutter Legler, a 2006 graduate of New Glarus High School, are part owners of Sonder Brewing Company, based in Mason, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati. Chase is a co-founder and serves as Sonder’s chief operating officer, overseeing brewing operations and production, while Haley is vice president of hospitality, responsible for shaping the guest experience across the company’s locations.
