Glarner Knights Claw Past Wildcats in Highway 69 Rout
Down two starters, the Glarner Knights shook off an early deficit and dominated Belleville with defense, depth and timely shooting to claim a decisive Highway 69 rivalry win on the road.
BELLEVILLE, Wis. – On a frigid January night with temperatures hovering around 13 degrees, the New Glarus Glarner Knights warmed up the Belleville High School Gymnasium with a dominant 55-35 win over their archrival Belleville Wildcats on Tuesday.
Separated by just eight miles of asphalt along Highway 69, New Glarus and Belleville have been trading blows for decades. This one had a little extra bite for the Knights, who came in intending to avenge the girls team’s overtime loss to the Wildcats just four nights earlier.
