The New Glarus Glarner Knights were right there from the opening tip, but a late surge by Waupun proved to be the difference as the Warriors pulled away for a 45-37 win Saturday afternoon at the New Glarus High School gymnasium.

The game was played against the backdrop of bitter cold outside, with temperatures well below zero at tipoff, but both teams brought plenty of energy for a Saturday matinee. New Glarus entered the contest 8-8 overall and 2-1 in the Capitol-South Conference, while Waupun came in at 5-10 overall and 2-1 in the Capitol-North.
