Defense, grit and late-game hustle carried the Glarner Knights to a hard-earned road win at Marshall, pulling away in the final minutes of a physical conference battle.
MARSHALL, Wis. – New Glarus built its lead the hard way Thursday night, leaning on defense, grit and timely shots to secure a 53-41 Capitol-South Conference win over Marshall in a low-scoring battle at the Marshall High School gymnasium.
The Glarner Knights trailed by one at halftime but took control in the final minutes, outworking the Cardinals on both ends of the floor and turning defense into decisive offense down the stretch.
