MADISON, Wis. — The 2026 World Championship Cheese Contest is underway this week in Madison, drawing more than 3,000 entries from around the world across 150 classes of cheese and dairy products, with nine Green County cheesemakers among those competing.

The biennial competition, hosted by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious technical cheese contests in the industry. Green County’s strong presence once again underscores its reputation as a powerhouse in Wisconsin dairy production.
