A stately brick home on First Street that dates back more than a century continues to welcome visitors to the village, blending family history with modern hospitality.

Owned by Don and Jane Elmer, the Duerst Guest House at 1101 First St. has operated as a vacation rental for nearly 19 years. The home, originally built in 1914, reflects both New Glarus history and a long connection to the Elmer family.
