CAMBRIDGE, Wis. — The New Glarus Glarner Knights varsity girls basketball team walked into Cambridge High School on Thursday night knowing exactly what was at stake: win, and the Capitol South Conference title belongs to New Glarus alone; lose, and it would be shared. They left with a 52-50 victory and a championship no one will forget.

In a game that swung wildly from one run to the next, the Glarner Knights showed poise, grit and just enough late-game composure to silence a roaring Blue Jays crowd and claim the outright crown.
