Kubly Tire & Service to Close After 60 Years of Service to Monticello

MONTICELLO, Wis. — Kubly Tire & Service in Monticello will close on Friday, March 13, ending a 60-year run for one of area’s most recognizable independent service stations. Customers visiting the station this week were greeted by a sign thanking the community for 60 years of “friendship and support.”

The closure comes just weeks after the death of Irving “Jerry” Kubly, 79, who spent much of his life behind the counter, at the pumps and in the service bay of the business that became a fixture in Monticello.
