A dramatic matinee at New Glarus High School saw the Glarner Knights rally repeatedly, force overtime, and come within inches of a signature nonconference win against Lodi.
The New Glarus Glarner Knights came within a single possession of a statement win Saturday afternoon, falling 39-38 in overtime to Lodi in a tense, low-scoring nonconference girls basketball matchup at New Glarus High School that was decided in the final seconds and ultimately turned on a single free throw.
On its home court, New Glarus showed resilience and defensive grit throughout a game that swung on momentum, patience, and poise. The Knights trailed by three at halftime, erased a long second-half scoring drought by Lodi, and forced overtime with a dramatic late three-pointer, but in the end, New Glarus could not seal the deal.
