RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. — The Sugar River wrestling squad placed seventh as a team Saturday at the WIAA Boys Division 2 Group E Sectional tournament at Richland Center High School, highlighted by a sectional championship from freshman Madox Mau.

The Sugar River co-op, representing Belleville, Monticello and New Glarus schools, scored 111.5 team points to finish seventh in the 16-team field, missing out on a chance to compete in the Team Sectionals tournament by one place. Only the top six teams from individual sectionals qualify.
