On Feb. 4, 2026 the New Glarus Village Board approved Ordinance 26-02, updating cemetery regulations and establishing new guidelines for decorations placed beyond headstones at the New Glarus Cemetery. The ordinance repeals the prior cemetery regulation section and amends Chapter 129 of the municipal code .

The changes take effect as the Village continues managing the cemetery under its new ownership and maintenance authority.
