More Is Now Known About Highway 69 Crash Near New Glarus
The Green County Sheriff’s Office says a New Glarus-area crash Sunday involved two northbound vehicles, several people with non-life-threatening injuries, and a driver cited after traffic slowed for turkeys in the road.
More is now known about the two-vehicle crash Sunday on Wisconsin Highway 69 near Old Madison Road in the Town of New Glarus. According to the Green County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened when one northbound vehicle stopped because about 20 turkeys were in the roadway and was then rear-ended by another northbound vehicle.
The sheriff’s office said Pamela J. Johnson-Wiot, 58, of Freeport was stopped on Highway 69 waiting for the birds to move when her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Benjamin A. Diddens, 19, of Freeport.
