New Glarus Baseball Wins 11-6 at Monticello
Ethan Colstad earned the win, Nolan Julseth homered, and the Glarner Knights used speed and patience to pull away from Monticello/Albany in a road victory Monday.
MONTICELLO, Wis. — New Glarus turned an early tie into a comfortable lead Monday, beating Monticello/Albany 11-6 behind timely hitting, aggressive baserunning and a steady opening effort from Ethan Colstad. The Glarner Knights improved their day with a road win after scoring in five different innings.
New Glarus struck first with two runs in the opening inning, gave up two in the bottom half, then answered with two more in the third and four in the fourth to seize control. By the time the Space Stallions made noise late, the Knights had already built enough cushion to finish it off.
