New Glarus Cares Announces Next Major Community Project: New Pickleball Facility
After opening the New Glarus Dog Park, New Glarus Cares announced plans to pursue pickleball courts after strong survey support, a $400K–$500K project now in early site and funding planning.
Fresh off completing its third major community project in as many years — the New Glarus Dog Park, which opened earlier this month — the organization announced on Wednesday a new effort that may dwarf anything it has tackled before.
After surveying residents in October 2024, the organization found overwhelming support for one idea: new pickleball courts in New Glarus. Though it had already begun work on the dog park, the organization committed to begin planning efforts to build pickleball courts in our community. Behind the scenes, efforts have begun to find a suitable location for pickleball courts and planning the source of funds that will make the project possible. According to the nonprofit organization, this next project will be a major undertaking and could carry a price tag of $400,000 to $500,000, depending upon its location and scope of work.
