New Glarus Defense, Depth Power 72-50 Win Over Waterloo
Depth, defense and a strong second half lift the Glarner Knights past Waterloo, overcoming early adversity and a first-half injury to remain unbeaten in Capitol-South play.
A tough first half moment turned into a dominant night for the New Glarus Glarner Knights, who leaned on defense, timely shooting and depth to pull away from Waterloo for a 72-50 Capitol-South Conference win Tuesday night at the New Glarus High School Gymnasium.
New Glarus set the tone early when junior Tucker Sysko opened the scoring with a corner 3-pointer on the Knights’ first possession. Moments later, however, the night took an emotional turn. Sysko was injured on a fast break midway through the first half, forcing New Glarus to dig deeper into its bench while already missing Quinn Marty.
