The New Glarus Glarner Knights wasted no time making a statement in their Capitol South Conference opener Thursday night, racing out to an early lead and never looking back in a 56-32 win over the Wisconsin Heights Vanguards at the New Glarus High School Gymnasium.

Playing their first conference game of the season, the Glarner Knights set the tone just seconds after the opening tip. Junior Ellie Brenkman won the jump ball, freshman Ellie Parman pushed the ball ahead, and junior Kate Parman drilled a 3-pointer from the right wing less than five seconds into the game. Moments later, New Glarus capitalized on a full-court press, forcing a turnover that led to another quick basket and a 5-0 advantage.
