New Glarus Grinds Out a Road Win Over Iowa-Grant
Kate Parman’s leadership and timely scoring helped the New Glarus Glarner Knights battle past Iowa-Grant on the road, overcoming early struggles and pressure defense to improve to 3-1 this season.
The New Glarus Glarner Knights girls basketball team earned a gritty 46-39 victory on the road Monday night at Iowa-Grant High School, overcoming cold shooting early and a pesky Panthers defense to improve to 3-1 on the young season.
Iowa-Grant, a Division 4 squad from the Southwest Wisconsin Activities Conference, started five underclassmen but showed no fear all night. Despite New Glarus’ hot start to the season, the Knights struggled to find a rhythm early against a tight man-to-man defense and a full-court press that disrupted their inbound passes and forced several turnovers.
