New Glarus Native Dain Walter Earns AP All-America Honors, Draws NFL Attention
From Green County to the national stage, New Glarus native Dain Walter earned AP Division III All-America Second Team honors after starting all 11 games at UW–La Crosse without allowing a sack.
Dain Walter’s football career has taken him far from the fields of Green County, but his latest achievement brings the spotlight back to where it began.
The New Glarus native and University of Wisconsin–La Crosse senior offensive lineman was named to the 2025 Associated Press Division III All-America Second Team, a national honor recognizing the top players in college football’s Division III ranks. Walter, a 6-foot-7 left tackle, started all 11 games for the Eagles this season and did not allow a single quarterback sack.
For New Glarus, the recognition carries added meaning. Walter played his high school football at New Glarus–Monticello, where his development was evident well before he reached the varsity level.
