Fraud Reports, Crashes Keep New Glarus Police Busy in March
March brought 341 calls for service in New Glarus, including fraud complaints, two backing accidents on Railroad Street, a retail theft citation and continued police training as parking enforcement remained active.
The New Glarus Police Department responded to 341 calls for service in March, according to the department’s monthly report submitted April 1 by Chief Jeff Sturdevant. That was down from 366 calls during the same month last year and brought the department’s year-to-date total to 1,097.
Police also reported 27 assists to other agencies or departments, 67 traffic and municipal citations, 42 traffic warnings, 83 parking citations and three traffic accidents during the month. No one was incarcerated or jailed in March.
