New Glarus Trash and Recycling Delayed By Blizzard

Residential trash and recycling pickup in New Glarus and other Pellitteri Waste Systems service areas will run one day late all week beginning Monday, March 16, because of the winter storm and blizzard conditions affecting southern Wisconsin. Friday routes will be collected Saturday, following the same pattern used during a holiday week.

The delay comes as a Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 4 p.m. Monday for southern Wisconsin. The National Weather Service said heavy snow, blowing snow and north to northwest wind gusts of 40 to 45 mph were expected to keep travel difficult, with visibility dropping to a quarter-mile or less at times. New Glarus remained in the heart of the warning area Monday morning.
