New Glarus Village Board Approves EMS Agreement, Other Items
The board on Wednesday approved a regional EMS agreement, 11th Avenue assessment steps, ordinance penalties, food truck-related business and other agenda items during a busy meeting at Village Hall.
The New Glarus Village Board on Wednesday approved a proposal to create a new regional EMS district along with special assessment steps for the 11th Avenue project and other action items. The EMS vote was the headline decision of the night, coming after the Town of New Glarus approved the same proposal earlier that evening at a special meeting.
The action places the Village of New Glarus within a broader regional discussion that has drawn attention across multiple municipalities. The agreement has raised questions over cost-sharing, governance, long-term liability and local control, making the village board’s approval one of the more closely watched local government votes of the week.
