Prairie Haus Apartments, the 40-unit affordable and inclusive housing community at 1001 Elmer Road in New Glarus, quietly reached its five-year milestone this winter. What began as a bold idea championed by a group of local parents has become one of the most successful and admired housing initiatives in Green County. Today it is home to roughly 70 residents of all ages, incomes, and abilities, and it stands as a model for what small-town affordable housing can look like when mission, vision, and partnership align.
