Southwest Wisconsin is known for its rolling hills, spring-fed streams, and open farmland. Much of that landscape exists because the region was never flattened by glaciers during the last Ice Age. Today, protecting that distinctive environment has become the mission of one organization working quietly across the Driftless Region.

The Driftless Area Land Conservancy is a nonprofit land trust focused on protecting farmland, wildlife habitat, and natural landscapes throughout southwest Wisconsin, including areas near New Glarus.
