Richard Arn has lived most of his 89 years in New Glarus, where hard work, family, and community have always been at the center of his life. Earlier this fall, Richard he flew to Washington D.C. with his son as part of the Wisconsin Honor Flight.
Richard Arn has lived most of his 89 years in New Glarus, where hard work, family, and community have always been at the center of his life. Some are old enough to remember him as the former owner of Arn Implement when it was on Railroad Street and then later in the RPM Motors building on Highway 69, which he built. Others know him today as a proud member of the community who participates in the New Glarus Jodlerklub who still stays active and involved. But earlier this fall, Richard was honored for a different chapter of his life — one that took him far from Green County farm fields to the front lines of America’s Cold War readiness in Hawaii.
