A house west of New Glarus was destroyed in an early Wednesday fire, and a family friend said the Paradis family lost their home, most of their belongings and two cats, but no one was hurt.

A rural house west of New Glarus was destroyed in an early Wednesday fire, and the Mike and Myken Paradis family lost their home, most of their belongings and two cats, but no one in the family was hurt.

In a Facebook post seeking support for the family, family friend Ali Schlimgen said the family was not at the residence when the fire broke out and is now beginning the process of rebuilding. “Right now, they are incredibly grateful to have each other, and that’s what matters most,” Schlimgen wrote.
