Storms Pass by New Glarus Without Incident
A line of strong storms swept quickly through New Glarus and the surrounding area Thursday without a reported incident, dropping more than a half inch of rain locally before a cooler, unsettled start to the weekend.
The storm front that prompted watches and warnings Thursday evening moved through New Glarus rapidly without incident, leaving behind steady rainfall but no immediate reports of major local damage.
New Glarus picked up 0.56 inches of rain in the previous 24 hours, according to area rainfall totals, one of the higher amounts in the immediate area and more than Belleville’s 0.40, Monroe’s 0.16, Monticello’s 0.15 and Verona’s 0.35.
