Unusual String of Crashes Reported Near New Glarus Friday
An unusually high number of automobile crashes were reported Friday near New Glarus, including two accidents with injuries and two on the same road within about 50 minutes and another.
MONROE, Wis. — An unusual string of crashes was reported Friday, March 27, near New Glarus, with five separate incidents logged by the Green County Sheriff’s Office from early morning through late evening in Mount Pleasant, Exeter, Monticello and the Town of New Glarus.
The concentration of crashes stood out as uncommon for such a small geographic area, especially because weather conditions do not appear to have been a major factor. March 27 brought clear to mostly sunny skies and dry conditions across New Glarus, Belleville and Monticello, with highs generally in the 46- to 47-degree range after morning lows in the low 20s.
