Sugar River JV Wrestlers Gain Experience, Title at WWA Qualifier
Sugar River’s JV wrestlers made their mark at the WWA State Qualifier in Evansville, led by a championship run from Wyatt Gehin and multiple place finishes for the cooperative.
EVANSVILLE, Wis. – The Sugar River wrestling cooperative put together a strong showing Saturday at the Wisconsin Wrestling Association JV State Qualifier held at Evansville High School, highlighted by a championship performance and multiple place finishes against a deep field of programs from southern Wisconsin.
Freshman Wyatt Gehin led the way for Belleville/Monticello/New Glarus with a first-place finish at 144 pounds. Gehin worked his way through the bracket and capped his day with a pin in the championship match, earning 28 team points and accounting for the majority of the cooperative’s scoring.
