Sugar River Wrestling Goes 2-0 At Verona Quad
Sugar River wrestling went 2-0 at a Verona non-conference quad, earning a dominant win over Brodhead/Juda and a dramatic 39-37 victory against host Verona.
VERONA, Wis. – Sugar River Wrestling put together a strong night on the mat Tuesday, finishing 2-1 at a non-conference quad hosted by Verona Area High School. Highlights of the night included Ashlin Mihlbauer capturing his 100th win and Sugar River Wrestling Coach Peter Swenson winning his 100th dual in the matchup against Brodhead.
The Sugar River Wrestling cooperative — Belleville, New Glarus and Monticello — opened the evening with a dominant 54-11 win over Brodhead/Juda before edging host Verona 39-37 in one of the tightest duals of the night. Sugar River closed the quad with a loss to Dodgeville but left Verona with momentum and valuable non-conference experience.
