Sugar River Wrestling Takes Third at Monroe Invite
Sugar River wrestling earned a third-place team finish at the Monroe Invitational, led by Cayson Helwig’s title at 175 pounds and strong performances across the lineup.
The Sugar River wrestling cooperative turned in a strong showing Saturday, finishing third overall out of 17 teams at the Monroe Invitational at Monroe High School.
Competing against a deep field that included larger schools, such as Oconomowoc and Middleton, the Belleville/Monticello/New Glarus cooperative scored 144 team points and placed 11 wrestlers, earning a podium finish in one of the area’s larger midseason tournaments.
