Track and Field Returns to New Glarus After 37 Years

This spring, for the first time since 1989, New Glarus High School will field its own track and field team, marking the return of a program that had long competed in a cooperative arrangement and giving the Glarner Knights a fresh start competing in the Capitol South Conference.

Practices officially began last week as head coach Rychia Bosman and her athletes opened a new era for New Glarus track and field. Bosman brings both competitive experience and a coaching background to the role after standout years as a track and field athlete, assistant coaching work at Verona, coaching experience at Edgewood College and a season leading New Glarus Middle School track and field before taking over the high school program.
