A late-night structure fire in the Town of Exeter damaged a home on County Highway CC, displaced its occupants and killed some family pets, according to a Thursday press release from Belleville Fire Department.

Emergency radio traffic first indicated the call came in at 11:58 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, for a reported basement fire at N8415 County Highway CC near Tunnel Road east of New Glarus. Belleville Fire Department requested mutual aid from New Glarus Fire, and later radio traffic indicated Oregon and Brooklyn departments also assisted.
