Veterans Park Upgrades Near Next Milestone
New dugouts, a resurfaced field, a new outfield fence and other visible changes are taking shape at Veterans Memorial Park in New Glarus, even as work continues beyond Opening Day for the Glarner Knights.
Major improvements at Veterans Memorial Park will not be fully finished before the New Glarus Glarner Knights boys baseball team opens its season on Tuesday, but several upgrades will already be visible as work moves ahead on one of the community’s most-used ballfields.
Village Administrator Kelsey Jenson said the park is undergoing significant changes this spring, including “new dugouts, a new outfield fence, new foul poles, a new windscreen,” while noting that “the field was completely resurfaced last fall.”
