Village Board Approves Amended Budget, Lowers Mill Rate
Updated manufacturing assessments expanded New Glarus’ tax base, allowing the Village to lower its mill rate for 2026 while keeping the total tax levy unchanged and reducing the Village portion of most property tax bills.
The Village Board on Wednesday approved an amendment to the 2026 budget and tax levy to account for late-arriving property assessment data from manufacturing parcels, including major industrial employers in the community.
