The Village of New Glarus announced they are opening its compost bunker early because of favorable weather and seasonal need, giving residents a place to dispose of yard waste and small brush ahead of the usual spring cleanup rush.

The bunker is located at the Village Garage, 93 1st St., and is open now for yard waste and brush less than one inch in diameter. Village officials also reminded residents that yard waste should not be placed at the curb because it will not be picked up.
