Village Wastewater Plant Earns Statewide DNR Honor

The Village of New Glarus Wastewater Treatment Plant has been named a recipient of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources “Outstanding Performance of a Facility” award for 2025, a statewide honor recognizing excellence in wastewater operations and environmental stewardship.

Village officials were notified this week that the New Glarus facility was nominated and selected following a review of wastewater treatment plants across Wisconsin. The award, which began in 2019, recognizes facilities and operators for their daily commitment to protecting natural resources and public health. Nominations are made by DNR staff, with awards presented at the annual Government Affairs Seminar each February.
