Annual Library Book Sale Returns Aug. 22-23
The Friends of the New Glarus Public Library will fill the community’s new library with thousands of donated books Aug. 22-23, continuing a major annual fundraiser that has shifted dates along with the Wilhelm Tell Festival weekend.
The Friends of the New Glarus Public Library will hold its annual book sale Saturday, Aug. 22, and Sunday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at the new library, 26 Fifth Ave. in New Glarus.
This year’s sale will be the first held inside the new New Glarus Public Library building. Shoppers should enter on the Railroad Street side of the building.
The sale will feature a wide variety of adult fiction and nonfiction, cookbooks, children’s books, picture books and chapter books. Materials available at the sale traditionally come from community donations as well as books withdrawn from the library’s collection.
The annual sale has long been connected with the Wilhelm Tell Festival weekend. Its dates have shifted because the festival is no longer held over Labor Day weekend and now takes place earlier.
