Frequently Asked Questions
What is New Glarus 360?
New Glarus 360 is a digital local news website focused on New Glarus and the surrounding area. Our goal is to provide timely local news, features, sports, business stories, community updates, and useful information that helps people stay connected who are current and former residents, people who work here (or did in the past), and/or those who once attended school here.
Why do I need to enter my email to sign in or subscribe?
New Glarus 360 uses a platform that features email-based access. That means your email helps identify your account, manage your subscription, and deliver newsletters or member updates to you. New Glarus 360 is designed for passwordless member access, so your email is the key to your account.
Is passwordless sign-in safe?
Yes. Our member sign-in system is designed around secure email-based authentication rather than traditional passwords. This reduces the headaches of forgotten passwords and avoids storing member passwords on the site.
How long will New Glarus 360 be free to access?
New Glarus 360 offers free access to everyone through April 15. After that, some features and content will be reserved for paying subscribers. However, there will always be a free membership tier which will allow you to read the first two paragraphs of every story and access our newsletters, announcements, public notices, calendar, and public safety related news.
Why are you using AI?
We use AI as a tool, not as a replacement for journalism, judgment, or local knowledge. It can help with organization, transcription cleanup, idea development, formatting, and efficiency, especially useful for a small local publication. But all story decisions, editing, verification, publishing, and community judgment are led by humans.
Does AI write your stories for you?
AI may assist with parts of the workflow, but it does not replace reporting, fact-checking, editing, photography, or editorial decision-making. We review and shape the work ourselves. In a small community news operation, AI can help us do more, but it is still just one tool in the toolbox.
Who should I contact if I have a problem signing in?
If you run into trouble, check your inbox and spam folder first for the magic link or login code email. Our sign-in system depends on that email step. If it still does not arrive, contact New Glarus 360 for help. You can email us at editor@newglarus360.com or call us at (608) 205-8845.
Can I suggest a story or send in a news tip?
Absolutely. Community tips, story ideas, event information, and photos are an important part of strong local news. We welcome hearing from readers. Please use our New Tips page to submit your news tip or email us at editor@newglarus360.com.
