Art in the Park Expands Music, Food and Art Offerings

Art in the Park will return to New Glarus Village Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, bringing together regional artists, live music, food, beverages and more than six decades of tradition.

The juried art show will feature pottery, jewelry, woodworking, weaving, paintings, photography, fiber arts and artwork ready for framing. Organizers say the variety is intended to offer something for visitors seeking either a major piece of original art or a smaller handcrafted gift.

“Whether someone is looking for a one-of-a-kind statement piece or a handcrafted gift, there is something for everyone to enjoy,” said Haley Shutter of the Art in the Park organizing committee.

This year’s entertainment lineup will include Harmonious Wail as the featured musical act, with Sparkle Lounge Ensemble opening the event. Performances will continue throughout the day, giving visitors more reasons to settle into the park rather than simply walk through the artist booths.
