Art in the Park Offers a Full Saturday in New Glarus
A longtime New Glarus tradition returns Saturday with juried art, live music, food and drinks, Wilhelm Tell appearances and an expanded festival atmosphere designed to give visitors plenty of reasons to stay in Village Park — and town — for the day.
Anyone looking for something to do in New Glarus this weekend will have a particularly easy answer Saturday: head to Village Park and stay awhile.
Art in the Park returns from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, bringing its juried art show back to the center of New Glarus while increasingly surrounding the artwork with live music, food, beverages and other entertainment.
The result is an event organizers hope people will treat less as a quick stop between booths and more as a full day in the park.
“We encourage visitors to bring a blanket or lawn chair because this is no longer just a quick stroll through artist booths,” said Haley Shutter of the Art in the Park organizing committee. “It is an event where you can spend the entire day enjoying great art, live music, and everything New Glarus has to offer.”
