The 97th New Glarus Volksfest brought the community together Sunday, Aug. 2, for an afternoon of traditional Swiss music, yodeling and cultural performances at Wilhelm Tell Shooting Park.

Beautiful weather and unusually comfortable temperatures for an August day provided an ideal setting for the outdoor celebration. Guests relaxed beneath the trees, visited with friends and enjoyed music throughout the afternoon.

The program featured local singers and musicians along with House of Voice, a visiting vocal group from St. Gallen, Switzerland. The celebration also included alphorn music, Swiss flag throwing and other traditional folk arts.
